Flower vibes

With all the color exploding in the garden, I felt compelled to paint some dreamy flowers.

While my subject matter has temporarily switched from wild animals to flowers, I continue to use it as an opportunity to exploration creating softer forms and edges that disappear into the background. I like the variety and contrast of having some well defined shapes, while allowing other areas to be more abstracted.

I find I am constantly resisting my inner neat-nic and the urge to tidy things up, as doing so would kill the looser vibe I’m aimiing for.

The title for this painting was suggested by Christine Hankerson, a member of my free subscriber community. It’s titled “Welcome to My B &B” which is a playful nod to the letter B’s and the little bee in the painting.
