Fox in the Garden

$800.00

As an artist, I often with a loose idea of want I paint, such as a fox in a garden. I can’t see it fully in my minds eye, so I just begin and let the painting guide me where it wants to go.

I work in stages, building up layers. It’s a fluttery dance between intuition and discernment. I’m not always consciously aware of what I’m trying to express. It’s as if my subconscious is taking the lead, guiding my brush strokes and color choices, revealing parts of myself I hadn’t yet recognized or understood.

This fox painting is a perfect example of this mysterious creative journey. As I painted, I didn’t set out with a specific message in mind, but now I see how it speaks to the delicate balance between wildness and harmony in nature. The fox, traditionally seen as cunning and adaptable, appears serene among the garden flowers. It’s as if I’ve captured a moment showing how we can find our true nature in unexpected places.

I didn’t consciously choose to include bees and flowers for their symbolism, but now I see how they represent abundance and the interconnectedness of all living things. The fox’s peaceful expression seems to remind me - and perhaps viewers - to find moments of stillness and appreciation in life’s garden of experiences.

It’s fascinating to me how a painting can reveal its meaning after it’s completed. This piece, born from an uncertain beginning, has become a reflection on balance, adaptation, and finding peace within our own nature. It’s a visual representation of thoughts and feelings I didn’t even know I had until I saw them come to life on the canvas.

Artwork Details: A 24″x24″x1.5” original acrylic mixed media painting on gallery wrapped canvas is ready to hang in your home or office.
