Fee: $75, includes canvas and all art supplies

From curiosity to confidence—and a little magic along the way.

In this uplifting, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll create a vibrant dragonfly painting that reflects your unique spirit and sense of wonder.

We’ll begin by creating a mixed-media playground using acrylic paint, stencils, markers, scraping tools, and whatever else feels fun in the moment. Think layers, marks, happy accidents, and curiosity leading the way. No pressure. No perfection. Just play.

Once the surface is alive with color and texture, I’ll guide you step-by-step in transforming that abstract playground using a negative space painting technique into a charming dragonfly painting — one that is uniquely you.

What You’ll Do

  • Explore playful mark-making, layering, and color

  • Learn intuitive playground & negative-space painting techniques

  • Transform an abstract surface into a magical dragonfly composition

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is open to beginners and experienced artists alike. No prior painting experience is required—just a willingness to experiment, play, and trust the process.

What You’ll Leave With

  • A finished, ready-to-hang dragonfly painting

  • New confidence in your creative abilities

  • A lighter heart and a spark of inspiration

The Symbolic Meaning of Dragonfly

The dragonfly is a symbol of transformation, lightness, and awakening. Emerging from water into air, it moves through change with grace and clarity, reminding us to trust the process of becoming. Dragonflies invite us to live more fully in the present moment and reconnect with joy, intuition, and inner truth. Their shimmering wings are a gentle nudge to embrace change not as loss, but as expansion.
